The sun rose. I woke up, stretched, and grabbed my phone – this was the day that Miley’s new music video, “We Can’t Stop,” was being premiered. I know- the music video age has slightly passed- it isn’t junior high anymore, and putting on my uniform for school while watching VH1 is no longer a norm, but I’ve always tried to keep up with music videos. I felt like the artists were always 10x more excited about them than anyone else, and I wanted to share that with them by watching and “ooh” and “ahh” ing.
THEN THIS HAPPENED.
My sweet Miley Cyrus (former star of Hannah Montana and daughter to classic hick, Billy Ray Cyrus) has been trying to break out of Disneyhood and into Womanhood for quite a while now- she may have landed or may have missed her turn and landed in Crazyhood.
The point of Miley’s song is that she is an independent lady- ain’t no body gonna tell her what she can and can’t do.
We run things, Things don’t run we! We don’t take nothing from nobody!
